A Gorgeous Georgian Acrostic ‘Regard’ Locket Heart in 18ct Yellow Gold (Tested).

A Lovely Acrostic Heart that spells ‘REGARD’ with the first letters of the individual gem stones used; in this case: ‘Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby and Diamond.’ The centrally placed diamond is ‘Table cut’ and measures approximately 0.04/0.05ct The other gems are ‘Old cuts’ and of similar size and are in good condition with no visible chips /nicks. They are all collet set with delicate and fine claws.  
The Gold is of a lovely, buttery colour and the heart consists of finely engraved patterned scallops. There are 6 delicate filigree flowers interspersed on the front face of the heart. The bail is made up of 6 filigree flowers, one of which contains a Turquoise coloured stone cut en cabochon which is claw set. The pretty bail has ben added to a link with a ring, which has been fixed as an old repair, with some soldering. This can only really be seen with a loupe, but it must be mentioned. The Heart opens up to reveal tightly woven hair under Rock Crystal encasing. The hair and case are in perfect condition. The encased hair measures 1.2cm diameter. The Heart Locket clicks back shut. It is provided with a lovely ‘Twist’ 9ct Victorian chain with a 9ct stamp on the ring.
