A wonderful Georgian Locket Pendant with fine textured gold and sweet flowers in bi coloured gold. Nodule edgings on the outer rim make for a fine finishing. The back of the pendant/locket has fine silk in cream colour and this is where someone would have added a photo or hair of a loved one. There is a slight stain on the silk and this is where some water has got in. However, this is negligible. There is a bevelled glass back.The Turquoises are cut ‘en cabochon’ and the garnets are oval in shape. They are in good condition with no chips. The textured gold as a lovely bloom to it and has a ‘rosey’ hue. The flowers and the casing for the stones is made in a more ‘yellow’ coloured gold. There is a pretty bail at the top, with entwined red and yellow gold . an encased turquoise and a pretty gold flower. This is such a delightful piece!
