A most gorgeous French Art Nouveau enamel Butterfly brooch, set with ‘ Old Mine’ and ‘ Rose cut’ Diamonds , with lemon yellows and iridescent blues, Silver on Gold, Ca 1900. The largest Diamond is approximately 0.20ct, of G/H colour and VS clarity (estimated) and is finely ‘Claw set’ . The other Diamonds are ‘Pave set’ and ‘Rub over ‘ set. The enamel shows areas of fine wear in a couple of places , but this in no way detracts from the beauty of the piece. Safety catch has the French eagle head for 18ct . It is simply put, just gorgeous!
