A Tortoiseshell hair pin with fine gold inlay in honeycomb design and Greek key pattern, Ca 1880. All perfect, witih a sligth wear on patch on one side of ball. The Tortoiseshell would have been heated so that it begins to melt and it softens, then the craftsman would skillfully work in the gold.
