A beautifully chased Georgian Snake bracelet with a wonderful face and little sharp teeth ! The bracelet measures 16.5cm, not including the head and weighs 17.20g. With fine chasing to the face, neck and back , in the most intricate of detailing, this is indeed a fine example of its kind. The gold is a lovely 'melt in the mouth' butter colour and has tested 18ct. There are three cabochon graduating Turquoises (natural) to the head and two Garnet cabochons that make up the eyes ; all are in good nick. To the moth are fine, little sharp teeth....The links of the bracelet are articulated and graduated in size. A firm slide, tongue in groove clasp exits to the side of the head.
In victorian times, snakes symbolize 'Eternal love'. Over time the snake had many meanings but one of the most popular is that of eternity.
