A very fiery pair of Victorian opal and diamond earrings. This delightful pair has bright, old mine. cut diamonds encircling the opals. Measuring 1.7cm long X 1.5cm, with pin and post backs. The diamonds are clean and white estimated at G/H colour and VS clarity. The opal is claw set as are the diamonds in 18ct yellow gold which has been Rhodium plated.
It is said that precious opal, with its display of fire, can spark creativity, and that the ‘dance’ of its fire can help people enjoy thier lives. Made of Silica spheres, they should be introduced to water as this helps them to remain hydrated and hence prevents crazing or cracking. It’s not bad luck, its just a lack of water!
Opal is October’s birthstone and marks the 14th wedding anniversary. I find it a magical stone with all its dancing colours!
