A very pretty Victorian heart pendant/brooch in silver and gold with a fabulous white Australian opal with a great play of colour. The white Australian opal is cut en cabochon in a heart shape and has red, orange, yellow, blue and green hues amongst others. It is a very fiery stone and measures 10.9mm X 7.1mm. The opal is delicately claw set in 18ct yellow gold claws and is framed in chunky, sparkling old mine cut diamonds. The diamonds are in lovely condition, without chips or fractures. They are estimated to be of G/H colour and VS clarity and approximately 1ct total weight. They are claw set in silver and are good, lively stones. The bail slides down and out and the pendant is then converted to the brooch form. The pin has a ‘C’ catch for extra security. The piece measures 23.5mm and 30.1mm with bail. It comes in its own antique, fitted box.
