Delightful, Cherub Micro-mosaic Necklace Collar Ca 1860

A most charming Micro mosaic collarette in 18ct yellow gold. The smart, black and white micro mosaic is in very good condition framed by gold nodules and fine wire work . The micro mosaic is of a cherub’s head, in smart black and white little tesserae The beautiful chain is made of five rows of fine gold foxtails in lovely, melt in the mouth, butter colour. It is smooth to the touch and has a lovely patina. The clasp is in the Etruscan style . The collarette has a very smart contemporary look though it is an antique piece. The back of the necklet has a bloom finish . It is a suitable for a slim, small neck only. The micro mosaic would be out together in Italy in Ca 1860-80. The chain and clasp could be made in England or Europe. This lovely and most desirable piece is set in 18ct gold.
