A thoroughly charming Victorian 15ct tested gold Locket pendant with dark midnight navy and white enamelling with a central gold carved Owl. The Owl represents Wisdom, intelligence, protection, and vigilance. The Owl stands proud, attached by a centred pin to the centre of the concave enamel oval. The enamel is in very good condition with no chips or cracking. The drum has fine and ornate gold work, including twist rope work as does the bail and drop. The white enamel shows very slight wear, but this is only noticeable under a loupe. The back has a compartment for a photo of a loved one. The piece is in excellent condition, with no dents or dints.
